Back From Vacation

I am back from vacation! I had a great time! it was not long enough I can tell you! and its funny how as soon as you go back to work its like you have never been away!

We drove up to Stratford Upon Avon on Sunday and spent the day there, Monday we went to Alton Towers which is a theme park! I was pretty scared about the rollercoasters but I went on them all!!!!!! its such a big park but we managed to get it all done in a day as there was no queues.

Tuesday and Wednesday we stayed in the Cotswolds which is just beautiful (pic above) Its just so different to the city I love it! Oh and I forgot to mention I found a scrapbook shop in Stratford called BlueMoon! I went crazy in there and spent alot!!!!
I was not able to scrap for a week and this weekend I scrapped 3 pages! the weekend has flown by though which is not a good thing! Scrapping does make time fly! here are some of my work from the weekend! I will upload more tomorrow.

This is the bag I bought with my birthday money! Its a Pauls Botique and each bag he makes is different which I just love! I was inspired by the star print on the bag and used stars as my theme, main product used is scenic route laurel PP.

Yep you have guessed it! this is a pic of me and my brother on one of the rollercoasters at the theme park! Look at the fear on my face! I honestly did enjoy it though! I used 3bugs in a rug Stars PP. The blue stars are Autumn leaves stamps and the title is American Crafts!

First Altered Journal

Its been such a lovely hot day today! why is it that whenever I wear a jumper and a coat to work its sunny? and the day I chose to wear a short sleeved top it is cold! argh, I just cannot win.

Last weekend I felt inspired to create my first altered journal (above) I decided on a girly theme for it! I had Queen and Co Alphas to use up from my stash. I also used 2 Bugs in a Rug Tickled Pink paper, and Heidi Swap pink flowers, Bazzill big polkadot brads and of course pink ribbon, which I tied around the rings of the book!

I had alot of fun making this! and I can see myself getting addicted to Altered Art!

Comment with your Altered Journals! I would love to see them!

How To Make A City Layout!

Its such a sunny day here in London! I am making the most of it by sitting outside in the garden as I type this. I have spent soooooo much on my scrapstash the last two weeks! I bought myself my first clear stamps from Autumn Leaves, stars and hearts! & I love them!

I bought them from Just A Memory for £12 plus PP of course. Now I have used clear stamps I dont think I will ever look back! I plan to buy more! I used my new stamp set on my latest lo "New York" (see above) I used Basic Grey's Paper Collection Color Me Silly, I think the colors and the shapes I cut around the lo show the hustle and bustle of New York. I also did paper tearing along the bottom and I inked along the tearing and also the photo to give it more of a city feel. There is also alot of doodling I did in White Gel Pen! Mainly doodle stitching.

Here is a closeup of the bottom part of the lo! I wanted to share a tip with you! The journaling on the photo Is a PC Font! I added the font to the picture on my laptop and then printed it off! simple and very effective! You can also see a closer view of those heart stamps and the paper tearing with the inked edges.

Hope you have a great weekend! Nikki Monique xx

Feeling Dotty!

This lo was created for a challange where you had to include polka dots! I had the paper and the Doodlebug flowers to hand and just had to figure out a theme that would fit! "My Dotty Ways" popped into my head! I have used Scenic Route Charlotte PP and used layering of the different paper. The swirl at the top of the page I hand sketched and traced onto the pp!

Journaling is 5 facts about my dotty ways 1. I always check my car about 5 times after I have parked it. 2. I am always too early for everything. 3. I spend too much time thinking about scrapbooking. 4. I like Ironing. 5. I have a phobia of feet.

What Got Me To Today

I went to see "We Will Rock You" The band Queens Tribute musical show in Londons West End! It was brilliant! I would say to everyone to go! they had everyone dancing to all of the classic songs!
Apart from going to London last weekend I had a busy time scrapbooking and I bought a storage box with 4 trays! I spend alot of time organising that!

I came across a wonderful new Scrapbooking line "Tinkering Ink" at Artbase. I just had to buy a few papers to test them out! I picked the "Perfectly Posh" range!

The page below shows the papers from Tinkering Ink. The lo is based on 10 facts which have got me to where I am today! I went for a simple design as I wanted the bold colors of these papers to show. The journaling is around the border and I used Heidi Swap White Chipboard Letters for the title which I arranged around two flowers from the PP which I just out! As I set it out on the page I thought "mmmmh this could work" so I went ahead and glued the letters on! I think the arrangement of the title makes it stand out.

The 10 facts which got me where I am today which are in the journaling is

1. My good upbringing 2. My Motivation, if I want to do something I will do it, 3. Learning to fact my fear. 4 Appreciating every day. 5. Passing my exams with great grades. 6. Being Bullied, it made me stronger and more determind to succeed 7. My ability to give great advise to people 8. My Good Manors 9. My creativity has found me a great hobby in scrapbooking 10. Valuing the simple things in life such as the Sea and the Countryside.

Have a great Sunday
